Unified Remote runs on Android and is an universal remote control app for your computer that comes pre-loaded with support for over 90 programs. With it, you can simulate mouse & keyboard control, use media players, control presentations, handle screen mirroring, establish power control, and get to grips with pretty much everything else you do on a desktop. Way cool!

To make the app work, you go through a basic server and app setup, installing the former on your PC and the latter on your smartphone. The two talk over Wi-Fi. The server, which runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux is secured with password protection and encryption. There's Wake On LAN support as well, to let one easily fire up the server.

Although it's free to use, a full version license for Unified Remote can be purchased, unlocking possibilities for custom remotes, widgets and quick actions, voice commands, IR & NFC-based actions, and Android Wear support (includes Quick Actions, Voice control, and a touchpad simulation).
