Shazam gets iMessage integration so you can identify songs while babbling with buddies

4

Shazam has launched a new iMessage app that allows you to “Shazam” songs while simultaneously chatting with friends. If a song you like, but don’t know the name of, starts playing while you’re on iMessage, you can now quickly tap the Shazam button and identify it without ever leaving the app. The result can then be shared with the other party and appears in its own message bubble, along with album artwork, number of “Shazams”, and links to access the song on iTunes and Apple Music.

You can get the iMessage version of the app by tapping the “>” button next to the text box, selecting the “App Store” icon and then search for “Shazam”. Once downloaded, the app will appear in your iMessage apps list, along with games, sticker packs, and other content from the iMessage App Store. On a related note, the other way of identifying songs without firing up the full Shazam app is via the mighty useful Shazam widget.
