Honor did not want to wait for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 to announce its new mid-range Android smartphone. The Honor 8 Lite is now available for pre-order in Finland for €269, and it will go on sale on February 17.

The smartphone is available in four colors: black, blue, gold and white. However, only black and white versions of the Honor 8 Lite will be available initially, followed by gold at the end of February, as well as blue one month after that.

Unlike the Honor 8, the downgraded version ships with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. Since this really a lower variant of the Honor 8, it comes equipped with a Kirin 655 CPU instead of the Kirin 950 processor. It also comes with 3GB RAM, as opposed to 4GB RAM packed inside the Honor 8.

The Honor 8 Lite sports a 5.2-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution and 2.5D glass on top of it. There are 16GB of storage inside, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

On the back, there's a 12-megapixel camera with F2.2 aperture and very fast autofocus, while in the front, the Honor 8 Lite has an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 77-degree angle view. A 3,000 mAh non-removable battery keeps the light on.
