T-Mobile Coolpad Catalyst
T-Mobile will soon start selling a new, cheap Android smartphone made by Coolpad (not exactly a household name in the US). Called Coolpad Catalyst, the handset will be available on T-Mobile starting June 7, being offered for $99.99 off contract. MetroPCS will also sell the device, but only starting July 11.

The Coolpad Catalyst has LTE connectivity, but most of its features aren't what we'd call exciting. The phone sports a 5-inch display with 480 x 854 pixels - one of the lowest screen resolutions currently available - and is powered by a quad-core 1.1 GHz processor (possibly a Snapdragon 210). Other features that have been revealed include 5 MP and 2 MP cameras (rear and front), a 2200 mAh battery, and 8 GB of internal memory - expandable thanks to a microSD card slot. The new device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and it's not clear if it's going to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Catalyst is the second Coolpad smartphone to be released by T-Moible, after last year's Coolpad Rogue (a 4-inch prepaid handset that's offered for $49.99). You can take a closer look at the Coolpad Catalyst in the promo video embedded below.
