BengalBoy 'Reloads his Primary' with iMate's PDA2k

0comments

Received my new PDA2k from Dubai yesterday....and all I can say is "WHAT A GREAT UPGRADE!!" The device as was already stated by FutureDoc is cosmetically and constructionally a very nice improvement over what was already a very well made product. By comparison to the HP....its like comparing a Mercedes and a Ford. Nice chrome buttons and magnesium frame really instill ownership pride.

What comes in the box.....

PDA2k box opened

PDA2k in its cradle

Bluetooth implementation is much improved over the old iMate. Very intensive use of menus and different types of bluetooth device support. I found it to be exceptional in use so far....with the exception of Voice Command not supporting voice dial from a bluetooth headset.

Battery life has been very good today lasting all day with a charge still left. Just don't leave on the WiFi.....

Comparison of the PDA2k with the current iMate...which is now for sale with WiFi card, Proporta Aluminum case, and all manuals etc..

The battery has been increased in size to 1490 mAh....and is a one piece design now....

The KeyBoard.....very nice and useable....this board is much better than the P910 board....don't even waste your time if you are considering the P910 based on the Qwerty board alone...this is your only choice...

WiFi Menus.... WiFi works great by the way and will automatically override GPRS if you leave it on and enter a "HotSpot"

The new Pocket PC 2003 SE ability to "Fit to Screen" a web page... First used it on the MpX220 and love it on the PDA2k... MicroSoft's version of "Small Screen Rendering" for Mobile Devices...it has been around with the Opera Browser for sometime..but MicroSofts looks very good, very recognizeable as IE....

Unfortunately the Smartphone 2003 SE ability to use Mp3 ringtones has not made it to the Pocket PC version...

Landscape Viewing on a 2003 SE OS device...the BIG SELL!!

The phone is alot more than just WiFi and a keyboard...for those who currently own an iMate or XDAII...its very much a worthwhile decision to upgrade...for anyone who has not purchased a Pocket PC device and is considering their options...the PDA2k and XDAIIs would be your best currently available options...along with the Qteck 9090 which I am told also has an English ROM....

So,,,who wants my old iMate????
