Overall great phone for people who want the basic necessities

Phone owned for more than a year

Great phone for the price. Got this phone when it was new for $90.00 at a Verizon store. The QWERTY physical keyboard sets the standard for phones like it. One catch, though: You can get the LG Cosmos 2 for a lower price, and it has the same Brew MP software for cheaper than this phone. Otherwise, if you are more interested in fashion, this is the phone to get, and the price difference is negligible. Currently, you can get the Cosmos 3 on Amazon.com for $70.00. I personally think that this phone is worth the money. Having this phone for two and a half years, you really get to know it. In terms of offered features, the browser isn't functional, at least on my phone. The Cosmos 3 is SUPER durable. I once dropped this phone from bleachers, with it hitting several crossbars on the way down, and it still survived, with nothing wrong with the screen or how it operated. Connectivity works with Facebook for what I know. Calling and texting are great. Since I live in the mountains, most phones from other carriers such as AT&T (ZTE Z432 review coming soon) didn't work. Verizon held up there, and I will be using it from now on unless I switch to a budget carrier such as U.S. Cellular. Anyways, back to calling, it is better than expected from basic phones. The earpiece works great and the speaker isn't fuzzy. Texting has its pros and cons. The FN key allows access to special keys without going into a submenu, which is great. MMS and group chat is the Cosmos 3's weak spot. MMS takes a while to load due to low RAM on this phone, which is ok, but it is still slow in general. The slide out QWERTY keyboard holds up well. One problem are the 2 side keys used to access messaging and contacts (visible in phone pictures as the the two keys to the left side of the phone when the QWERTY keyboard is stowed) aren;t durable, and after a while, you will progressively have to press harder. This isn't a major issue, though. Onto the battery. This battery lasts very long, and even longer with location services turned off (not necessary on this phone, but oh well, maybe if you lose it or something). One issue is with the battery indicator on-screen. Charging the phone for approx. 15 mins will how that the battery is full, but this is not true. It takes a solid 30-45 minutes to get full, which isn't terrible. Onto some bonuses with the Cosmos 3. It has an alarm clock, which works well. The ALARM ONLY mode sets the alarm volume to HIGH, so be careful w/ that if you don't want to wake up to a heart attack. The calendar is quite intuitive, and you can enter events into it and it will remind you about them (great for special appointments). Has a notepad, world clock, stopwatch, info search, and some other goodies to mess with, as well. Music can be downloaded onto the phone through a USB port with the phone set into USB MASS STORAGE mode. Camera is great. I hope you like this phone!
