Great for media consumption

I bought the HDX after having an HD, and I was not disappointed. The UI is not designed for productivity, but that's not what this device is about. Many people have complained the lack of the Play Store, but you can sideload any Android app, so that's not really a problem ;)

Glossy plastic strip doesn't look very high-end, the coating on the sides already starts to wear off.

Fast WiFi thanks to dual antennas.

The Sillk browser is still with its flaws, but fast enough. I replaced it with Firefox.

Good for wasting time, but not very productive :D
Text input

Good Swype-based keyboard, but sometimes a bit slow to react. Can be split in half.
Display

Very crisp 1920x1200 display, I can't complain :)
Battery

Battery is good, but because SD800 not as good as old Fire HD.

Pros

  • Superb display
  • Fastest processor currently on the market
  • Good value for the price
