Samsung and Ticketmaster join hands for Bixby voice ticket discovery and buying features
The virtual assistant that everyone loves to make fun of isn’t going away anytime soon, unless of course you’re willing to go through the hassle of installing a third-party app to then be able to remap the Galaxy Note 9’s Bixby button... until Samsung inevitably blocks the service.

If you want to at least give the 2.0 version of the chaebol’s AI-powered Google Assistant rival a chance, you might be happy to hear Bixby is getting Ticketmaster integration... before getting its very own Echo, Google Home, and HomePod smart speaker contender.

Available for the time being only in North America for early Samsung Galaxy Note 9 adopters, the Ticketmaster feature works as seamlessly and conveniently as you can imagine, at least on paper.

Two nifty examples of voice commands Ticketmaster can follow on the Note 9 include directly asking Bixby to find concert tickets in a certain area or US city, as well as searching for (vague) nearby sporting events.

Once you discover the festival or football game that best suits your preferences, buying your tix becomes easy as pie, and you can complete (almost) the entire booking operation simply by using your voice.

Founded way back in 1976, Ticketmaster Entertainment actually merged with Live Nation to become a giant new company called Live Nation Entertainment a few years ago, comfortably dominating the live event ticketing global market now with no less than 500 million transactions facilitated a year.

Bottom line, this newly announced partnership is definitely a win-win situation for both Ticketmaster and Samsung’s slowly improving Bixby assistant, although the ticketing service has also long offered Google Assistant integration.
