iOS meditation app buddhify 2 transcends into the App Store

Glasgow-based developer 21awake has released a successor to its meditation and mindfulness app, buddhify classic. Its name is buddhify 2, and it looks like it won't abstain from the unwritten rule that the sequel is usually better than the original - which, by the way, surpassed 30,000 paid downloads in 18 months. With an opening price of $1.99, buddhify 2 boasts a redesign for increased usability, 40 guided audio meditation tracks between 5 to 20 minutes in length, solo mediation timer, check-in system, personal statistics, and over 100 tips for optimizing your mindfulness practice. According to its creators, the app is suitable for all experience levels, especially beginners.

The mindfulness app was conceived by Rohan Gunatillake, a blogger and associate of Buddhist Geeks, who was named one of the 50 people who will change the world by Wired magazine in 2012. He says that he wants people to understand mindfulness and meditation as something we all have access to. This explains why buddhify 2 features audio-exercises for many situations – for example, it could guide you into meditation while traveling, taking a break, being online, and vice versa.
