iOS 12 release date announced: Here's when you're getting it
Wondering when Apple will release its latest rendition of iOS to the millions of devices that are eligible to receive it?

We were eager to learn this as well, and fortunately, as it usually happens, a concrete date was given during Apple's iPhone event that wrapped up just minutes ago.

So, the date we are all waiting for is September 17, when all eligible iOS devices will receive the iOS 12 update. While it's not a revolutionary update by any means, it is a notable release that will bring a trove of long-awaited features to iOS, including but not limited to grouped notifications, serious performance improvements, improvements to Siri and AR emojis, smarter Do Not Disturb, and others. Overall, a solid update that will reach a great number of devices.

Actually, here are all the eligible devices that will be getting iOS 12:

  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation
  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro 1st generation
  • 10.5-inch iPad Pro
  • 9.7-inch iPad Pro
  • 9.6-inch iPad
  • iPad Air 2
  • iPad Air
  • iPad 5th generation
  • iPad mini 4
  • iPad mini 3
  • iPad mini 2

Even the old crusty 5S will get a day one update. Apple killing it. The Apple Watch 4 looks bada*** too.

This is what's great Apple's ecosystem. Even a 5 year old device is eligible for the update. Truly awesome.

And hopefully the upgrade won't bring back spam, battery drain, memory leaks and many other new "update features". Lets just hope somebody actually tested iOS12 and it finally be stable.

It's good on apples part but the only reason it's getting an update is because ios11 is so poorly optimized.
