While Google has all but confirmed
the thoroughly leaked Pixel 3a and 3a XL
smartphones will finally be made official next week, there's also a (small) chance new Home hardware will see daylight ahead of the search giant's I/O developer conference
on May 7 as well. After all, the original Google Home
hasn't been refreshed or upgraded since making its commercial debut more than two and a half years ago, with the Home Mini
released back in 2017 and also left without a sequel all this time.
In contrast, Amazon's diminutive Echo Dot has already reached its third generation
, which might explain the recent avalanche
of killer Google Home Mini deals
. Granted, this teeny-tiny but incredibly versatile smart speaker has been constantly discounted and sold in crazy advantageous bundles before. That said, it feels like the special offers are getting better
and better, not to mention more frequent.
The latest compelling promotion comes from Amazon subsidiary Woot, allowing you to buy two brand-new units for less than the typical price of one today only. You can choose between chalk (read white) and charcoal (aka black) models with standard one-year Google warranties included, although there's no mix and match option provided for folks interested in a nice chromatic contrast in their house.
At a grand total of $47.99, the Google Home Mini two-pack on sale for the next few hours is essentially available with a massive 51 percent discount. Of course, the entry-level Google Assistant
smart speaker rarely retails for $49 these days, fetching just $29 a pop right now at Google and the likes of Best Buy. You can also get this little guy free of charge alongside a marked-down $99 Google Home Hub, but if you only have around 50 bucks to spend on a couple of decent smart speakers with reasonably powerful sound, a sleek design, and thousands of exciting skills, Woot definitely has the perfect deal for you.
