Verizon Galaxy Nexus pre-orders may begin tomorrow

Verizon Galaxy Nexus pre-orders may begin tomorrow
There still has been no official word from Verizon, Google or Samsung about the impending release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but the rumors surrounding the launch are beginning to coalesce into believable information.

According to Computerworld, sources at Verizon have confirmed a number of key pieces of the puzzle. Apparently, the leak we saw over the holiday weekend about the on-contract price of the Nexus being $199 is also true. And, new information has confirmed both the release date and the pre-order dates.

One of the most helpful reports even came from a customer. Mike Peak apparently contacted Verizon to detail his anger over the handling of this release, after a number of e-mails, a Verizon rep called Mike and told him that pre-orders are set to begin Tuesday the 29th and the phone will be released on December 8th. Another Verizon rep from a local store even called Mike to let him know that he was already on the list for a Nexus and that they would hold it for him until two days after release.

We'd like to point out that we have tried to let readers know that while it may feel good to vent your anger into our comment threads, but a far more useful thing to do is vent your anger towards the source. We know that there are enough of you out there angry about the way Verizon and Google have handled this, and we always encourage you to voice your concerns to those responsible, because reps for those companies don't tend to inhabit our comment threads, and it's always better to have your concerns heard.

Now, we're off to compulsively refresh the Verizon Nexus page until pre-orders begin, so we can let you know as it happens.

I will be calling verizon tomorrow! This phone will be so nice too have. Hopefully it changes the way people look at phones. Its not all about the GHz, Mp, the GPU, the OS. Its about how all of it can be married together in perfect harmony. This phone does it, through system and app Optimization. Its not amazing hardware wise, but when it comes together, this phone will be one to remember.

The only other phone to do this is the iPhone. The nexus is pretty much an open source iPhone. [but better ;) ]

Cool your jets there cowboy, remember these are just phones, no need to get you (mothers) panties in a bunch. IPhone is good Nexus is good etc, theres not one phone to rule them all. You can use your SGII or Iphone or whatever and I\'ll have my nexus, to each their own. ..troll.

Until Verizon confirms, it is still a rumor, but supposedly the number has been verified by trusted sources.

Rumor I heard is the price is going to be somewhere around 199-249. Not sure about the pre-order.

pre order has no advantage when it comes to the price ;{

True, but it's priceless when you add the possibilty that w/ a preorder you may recieve the device sooner than the in store.release date. I know someone who got their Rezound shipped.to his door 72hrs before it landed in a store.

Did the Nexus kill your mom or something? Or do you just have some serious mental issues?

...and here's the third in a row. Get a life dude. I have an idea, no more responding to this jackass he obviously gets off on his own comments.

This isnt really the right article for this. I dont really understand why the US got the razr with the watered down features when asia received the razr with the 720 screen/upgraded camera etc. I would stick with my razr if that were the case but I would like a better screen/camera. Hopefully these hit stores soon so I can go try one out.
