Update to Cortana lets you know when your favorite musical acts are in town
How many times did you miss a local concert that starred your favorite band or singer, simply because you didn't know that the concert was going to take place? If you own a Windows Phone 8.1 handset in a region that supports Cortana, those days are over. A recent update to the Windows Phone virtual personal assistant has added public transport information. And while that is good to have, the update also adds Concert Watch.
Concert Watch keeps an eye on where your favorite bands and singers are playing, and lets you know when they are coming to your town. Since the feature is enabled with a virtual toggle button, how does Cortana know which bands and crooners to follow? Most likely this is accomplished by tracking which musical acts and musicians you search for using your handset.
So next time Adam and the rest of Maroon 5, Mick and the Stones or Lady Gaga visits your city, you might find yourself sitting in the front row instead of sitting at home, thanks to Cortana.
