Update sent out to OnePlus One brings Android 4.4.4 and a bunch of fixes to the phone

The update brings a new feature called Clear Image for the camera, According to OnePlus, "Once you switch on the new Clear Image mode in the Camera app, nothing but awesomeness will be captured." Using algorithms, pictures are clearer, noise in low-light conditions is removed, and OnePlus says it adds detail to pictures that other cameras can't add.
Addressing the yellow tinting of the screen, the update adds a new, cooler calibration of the screen. Using the proximity sensor, the phone is now set so it won't switch displays while in your pocket. The touch keys are now illuminated better, and the overall stability of the handset is improved. Among the items fixed is one that prevented vibrations from being deactivated during "quiet hours." Another fix takes care of the bug that led the phone to refuse to update song info on the lock screen.
Also fixed is the volume of the microphone in "voice recorder," the failure of "Ok Google" to start Google Search and the failure of the "O" gesture to start the camera. Repaired is an issue that would put up the wrong sized wallpaper on the screen.
The update might take some time to reach you, so don't panic if it doesn't come right away. Hopefully, this update will solve the issues that have had a number of the phone's owners unhappy with the manufacturer's response to these problems.
Thanks for the tip!

Of course you can update quickly when you've only made/sold a half dozen phones

If anyone gets this update please provide feedback on the camera's improvements. I have a OnePlus One that I haven't opened that will be sold on Ebay unless the camera is improved. With the Sony MX214 under the hood I can think of no reason why it shouldn't be as good as or better than the Xperia and S5 cameras.

I find the camera to be pretty good already. I will let you know though once I can update.

I'm looking forward to this phone in India. Although Xiaomi Mi3 is available at a lower price than this is going to be, its camera isn't anything to write home about. From what I have seen this one's still image quality and 4K video recording capabilities are on par with Galaxy S5.

How long will it take to update 50,000 international devices? That's about the extent of the number in the wild. Checked mine last night (USA), no update. It's in the box because I like the Huawei Ascend Mate2 better. Bigger screen ;)

I received the OTA update on my phone a couple of hours ago, here in California. So far, I tried some of the fixes like the circle gesture to start the camera (finally works reliably) and testing Google Now ("OK Google") and it seems to have fixed them. Thanks OnePlus!
