This protective cover for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 looks suspiciously familiar

No, this isn't an iPad standing on a folded Smart Cover that you are currently looking at. It is actually a protective case made for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it was just recently announced by the Korean accessory maker Anymode. It snaps onto the tablet protecting it from every day wear and tear, and when folded, the Smart Cover look-alike can be used as a support for the device making typing easier and watching videos more convenient.

There is no denying that Apple's Smart Cover and the Anymode Smart Case, as the accessory was marketed, are strikingly similar, both in terms of looks and functionality. This is probably why Samsung needed to step in and to ask for the withdrawal of the latter from the market soon after its release. After all, the last thing that Samsung needs right now is yet another copyright infringement accusation from Apple.

In response to the issue, Samsung stated in its blog that it never certified the accessory for use with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 even though the label on the photos below suggests otherwise. Furthermore, the company clarifies that not a single unit of the Anymode Smart Case has actually been sold, and we are guessing that none will ever be.
