This could be our first look at the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 (Note 7)!

We've been hearing for a while now that this August we will get not one, but two Galaxy Note devices — the “regular” Galaxy Note 6 (could be named Note 7) and an Edge variant, much like the Galaxy S7 / Galaxy S7 edge duo. Of course, we are left with the question – would the Note 6 Edge be a reincarnation of the first generation Note Edge — with its more meaningful, multitasking-oriented Edge Panels — or just a continuation of the Galaxy S7 edge philosophy, where the curved sides serve more for looks than for practical purposes.

Well, a very small glimpse at what is allegedly the Note 6 Edge's design may provide some answers. A video of what appears to be a promotional render of the curvy phablet has been leaked. Now, we only get to see a small part of the phone for less than a second. It appears that the leakster was filming a video of another screen, which was showing the render, and had to be really careful about not getting caught, thus, we get a low-quality, weird angle clip. Oh well, that's the nature of leaks.

On the video, we can clearly see what appears to be the bottom of a Note device, easily recognizable thanks to the click-out S Pen, seen on the right, next to the speaker. And, as the phone rolls off to the left, we see a very definite curve on the screen. The presence of a USB Type-C port is also notable, and a bit curious. Samsung chose to not go the Type-C route with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, but rumors have been suggesting that the manufacturer will put the reversible port on the upcoming phablets.

A couple of hours after the potato-shot video appeared, however, leaksters uSwitch and OnLeaks announced another big scoop – apparently, schematics of the device have also been leaked, and the leaksters teamed up to build early renders of it. And, what you see below is, allegedly, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6(or 7) Edge, in its full glory.

The design obviously borrows a lot from the Galaxy S7 edge, with a very respectable screen-to-body ratio and rounded-off frame sides for increased ergonomics. On the back, we can see that the camera bulge has been minimized to a near-flush size, again – just like in the S7 series. The top and bottom bezels, however look ever so slightly larger than the ones on the S7 models (proportionally speaking). Also, we see a lot of openings on the “forehead” of the smartphone. We've got the regular proximity and light sensors, which is the pair on the left of the earpiece, and the selfie camera, which is the slightly larger black dot on the right. But what are the other 2 for? Could one be an opening for the multi-color notification LED and the other – a flash for the selfie camera?

The phone shown on the diagrams is very slightly taller and thicker, but is narrower than the Note 5. The alleged Note 6 Edge's measurements are listed as 6.04 x 2.90 x 0.31 inches (153.5mm x 73.9mm x 7.9mm), while the Note 5's body is 6.03 x 3.00 x 0.30 inches (153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm). Of course, this is not hard to believe, as Samsung clearly demonstrated that the company is much more interested in providing devices with large, long-lasting batteries, than to making each new model thinner than the last.

And, let's remember that, while these renders do look pretty believable – a rumor is still a rumor, grab that salt shaker and feast your eyes on the images below!

Looks sick! And no, that's a compliment...! Bravo! Probably the hottest looking smartphone I've seen in a long, long time... I wish; just wish; there's no harm in wishful thinking, eh? So, I wish; if only it runs on iOS...!!! There I said it...! Apple Note, anyone? Complete with a stylus... I'd sell my house (if I have to) to get one...!!!

So the GreenMan loves the Note 6 design and wants that to run iOS. Wow

What's so appealing about ios? Supposing that I really liked iphone's physical design (which I don't), I would like it to run android not IOS. Thankfully, there are lot of smart phones out there that look like an iphone but actually run Android! I even had one for a while, but had to get rid of it because I got sick of looking at the iphone shape.

Maybe it's me and maybe I am affected by the placebo effect, but iOS to me would look terrible on a Samsung. Sure it would perform very well, but then it wouldn't be a Note anymore because it would be so limited. But if I could have iOS, with all the benefits of Android, sure I'd go for that too. You didnt say anything bad. Many have said that. But I dont want an iPhone with a Samsung logo. The only thing iOS offers that I want is, better programming code, so that apps look better. Bring them to Android with more hardware power and make the apps have even more features. No reason why mobile apps can't be of desktop quality.

I don't have iOS latest flagship, still using old iPad 4 and it's not smooth as the fanboys claim. iOS is good but personally it's not my favourite. Any Android flagship would offer same performance and more versatile, so the iNote is a no no for me.

So if the anniversary iPhone has it, will it still be gimmicky. On a Samsung its just gimmicky, on iOS it would be totally useless. But I find it funny how, the iPhone has been hyped in it design as being nice to look at an use. The Dual edged display of the S6/S7 also bring aesthetic quality ad a beautiful appearance to the phone. How exactly is that gimmicky? If you spent less time being a hypocrite, and just be a fan of all tech; then you will be beyond fanbish stupidty and just enjoy what tech has to offer. Because what's so sad, is your phone of choice cost the same as my phone of choice and I get so much more...gimmicky or not. Why dont you buy an S6/S7 Edge and actually use it and see if you continue to think its gimmicky. If you do, well you are entitled to your opinion. But or those of us who have had or have the phone, we will just take YOUR opinion is a proverbial grain of salt. Because we know you're salty because your favorite is...well...less of a favorite mow!

Cool story, not. Your entire essay comment boils down to one thing - waah waah waah, he said something about Samsung and it's causing me to get my panties in a twist.

Dude, you can say whatever you like about Samsung. But if you're gonna say the edge screen is a gimmick, then what is 3D-Touch? Both are equally useless. Both provide an option which actually has a quicker way. For example-I can put 10 people on my home screen for contacts, or I can just launch the phone and have them right at the top. With the iPhone I can launch the camera and choose record, faster than it takes to use the 3D-Touch for it. Apple used metal to make the phone look good. What other purpose does it offer other than holding the internals? NOTHING. The Edge has a purpose. Its nice ot look at. It doesn't need to do anything above that. Anything else is a Bonus But even if I dont use the edge screen, it still adds something else to the device. It has beauty and elegance to the design! What does force touch add to the phones value if you dont use it? Nothing. Samsung didnt have to do anything with it at all. But they gave it a purpose other than just looks. You guys always have something negative to say about Samsung, but rarely about Apple. Until recently when I saw you talking about iOS9 and the how the new phone looks. You cant stand anyone saying anything about Apple. You will defend them to the death. I've never defended Samsung ever. They dont nothing I feel that is so good or bad, that I feel the need to defend them. If they paid me to, it would be a different story. You're defending Apple for free. At the end the result will be the same. You will have the phone you like, I will have what I like, and nothing we say is going to change the others one mind. It doesnt matter what you say because, no matter what phone I'd be using right now, I know for a fact there is no phone out right now better than the Note 5 or S7. I dont need to defend that. Do I? You need to defend the iPhone, because you need to secure within yourself that such an obsolete device actually has some value. After all, you have to live with the fact that Apple sells a $200 phone for $1000 and Samsung sells a $280 phone for less. Yet I get more. You need to defend why you are willing t pay more money for less. I Don't Samsung is free game, shot your best shot. But the little BS things you will say, will go 10 times over for who you like.

What the heck are you smoking? You defend samsung all the time and always have something negative to say about Apple so don't flat out lie. Anyone who comes here enough knows the truth and knows how you are. Your focus is always samsung and Apple in your posts, I rarely ever see you compare or talk about other phones. Your a hypocrite like no other.

Do please grow up children....! Both have their merits but simply no longer moved by the iPhone. Lets see what the iP7 brings. In the meantime, the S7 Edge takes a lot to beat.

If it looks like that, I wouldn't but it. It may as well have a flat screen. I was thinking more of being similar to the S6 edge+. That just looks like a Note 5 with an edge u can barely see.
