Samsung Galaxy Note 6 (or Note 7) to be announced in early August

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 (or Note 7) to be announced in early August
With the Galaxy Note 5 now almost 1 year old, Samsung is getting ready to introduce a new Note smartphone. Logically, this upcoming handset should be called Galaxy Note 6, though rumors have it that Samsung may in fact call it Galaxy Note 7 - presumably in order to assure customers that the new Note is from the same generation of Samsung phones as the Galaxy S7 family (released earlier this year), and isn't related to the Galaxy S6 series from 2015.

Last month, we heard that the next-gen Galaxy Note (6, or 7, or whatever it ends up being called) could be released in the US in the week beginning August 15. Now, Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) reports that the handset's "launch event is almost exactly two months away" - which means we should expect Samsung to officially announce the new Note in the very first days of August. Usually, Evan Blass knows what he's talking about, so we're pretty confident about this.

Evan Blass also mentions that there's only one new Galaxy Note to be unveiled in August, so we guess we won't be seeing a variant with a curved screen, and another one with a regular display. If we're to believe the latest leaked details, the next-gen Galaxy Note will have curved edges on the back and front, thus possibly resembling the Galaxy S7 edge to some extent.

Another interesting rumor has it that the Galaxy Note 6 / Note 7 will feature a dual rear camera - similar to what's expected from Apple's iPhone 7 Plus (which should hit the market sometime in September). That aside, the new Note could offer a 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 823, or Exynos 8890 processor (depending on market), and up to 6 GB of RAM. Are you excited yet?

P.S.: The handset pictured above is the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

I really hope it isn't disappointing.

I don't think it will be. I think the only disappointment I'd have, is if it's not good enough to upgrade. As good as the S7 is, if I had an S6 Edge Plus, I would've skipped the 7. It's gonna be hard to top the N5, without a replaceable battery along with the other stuff rumored.

Depends on the battery size, and how power hungry the phone is. If I can get a full day I'm good, since I charge every night anyway.

That's how I do it. No matter what, I plug in at night.

People act like charging their devices at night is a chore. I never got that. Your asleep.... how are you supposed to check anything while your asleep...

Leaked blueprints of the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 / Note 7 have given us our first-ever look at the phone and confirmed some key features, ahead of its anticipated debut in August or September.

Bring this on...from the GS3 to the N5 to the N6....Nexus line looking weak to me thses days especially if they go 5.5" screen. I love the software update but this beast will make me jump ship. I already ordered a 64g ad card in anticipation.

But dual curved screen on the note? Isn't the flat screen more suitable for stylus use? Idk I just don't think that's a good idea.

I have no problem using that stick on the curved screen on my note edge

Note 6 would be a flat one!! Note 7 would be an edged one!! Just my rough guess!! Samsung usually cover both the crowds who look for flat and edge version!!

Their math teacher is Microsoft. "Class lets recite basic numbers! 1, 360, then what comes after that?" "1!" "Ok now onto more advanced numbers!" "1, 2, 3, 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10!" "Excellent!"

If you follow this guy Evan Blass, you will see he has a 90% hit. If it was anyone else, I would doubt it, but this dude is very reliable source.

I won't be upgrading this year from my note 5 even though its going to be hard not to. Just bringing back SD card and waterproofing would make it worth it , I do miss the waterproofing I had with my s5. But still will wait tell note 8 or 7 if this year is 6.

I want a bigger Note. 6 inch screen with 5000 mAh is a must. With bigger RAM, better processors, they must come with bigger battery.
