The new iPhone might launch on Sprint in October

The new iPhone might launch on Sprint in October
If you've been following the news lately, you probably know that the new iPhone is expected to launch on September 21, after being announced officially at the September 12 Apple press conference. What's interesting, however, is that perhaps not all U.S. carriers will get it on that same day, judging by the evidence that has leaked. In particular, Verizon and AT&T are to have the new iPhone in stores on the 21st, yet Sprint might be late to the party by a few weeks. Or at least that is the conclusion we can arrive at after examining this leaked Sprint employee training material, which you see in the image.

It is mentioned in the leaked paper that on October 15, "dealers will offer more robust in-store support for Sprint iPhone users", which leads us to believe that Sprint will get the iPhone on October 15. "In preparation, team members, including sales reps and ASC techs, are required to complete mandatory training courses," is also being stated.

Still, this is but a rumor that might end up being inaccurate, so don't get frustrated just yet. But even if what is said above is true and Sprint does get the new iPhone three weeks after Verizon and AT&T, would that be much of a problem? Let us know what you think by dropping a comment!

Sorry Nick, but I think you're wrong. I work in a service center and I can almost guarantee this is most likely about two things. One, the iPhone 5 coming in September (as most of the training starts in September, and the only reason those ones are dated in Oct. is probably for misinformation,) and also the fact Sprint has been hard at work attempting to get permission to work on the iPhone. Sprint has thousands of capable service centers where technicians, at the moment, are not allowed to touch iPhones at all essentially. We have to redirect them to the Apple store about an hour and a half away. Honestly I'm truly thinking that we may finally be able to do some service with iPhones, and I also think that we should be getting it at the same time. However, obviously with these leaks, there's a good reason why there may be misinformation. Also, even if it did? Wouldn't make that much of a difference. T-Mobile, the only other carrier with unlimited data right now, most likely isn't going to get the iPhone and Sprint will also most likely be the only carrier with unlimited data to carry the iPhone 5.

It is also equally possible that October is the date for DEALERS

Yeah.. I'm sorry but this is some terrible reporting. If you read the documents it specifically says that this is all targetting preffered retailers, not corporate store. It honestly seems like you either didn't read the actual leaked docs before you wrote up the article or you simply decided to ignore what you read and opted to write an article that would generate more "buzz" instead. Either way I think you need to step your game up Nick. I wish there was a way to thumbs down your entire article.

This is a fail article. This had to do with working on iphones, which the stores really cant do much other than reset them right now. For anything that actually involves working on it, they have to refer to Apple. So yea, fail. Hope this means TEP will be available for the Iphone soon, my custs ask about this a lot.

I work at sprint. its not uncommon to receive training AFTER the launch of a device, especially if it pertains to troubleshooting. I wouldnt call this a "fail article" it did serve the purpose of striking controversy and getting ppl to respond with comments. Also another purpose of this article is probably to get someone at sprint to spill the beans ;) nice try PA!

All that means is it will be ongoing trainings after the phone is released. Sprint has trainings all the time after phones are already out. The trainings start at most just a couple weeks before a phone is out not a month in advance, by that time you wouldv'e forgotten the material. Take it from me I work for Sprint. Honestly!!!

This is for corporate stores only not dealers, we only have training for corporate stores we don't do anything with the retailers they have their own system.

You would think that 15B entitled them release dates along side the big boys.....
