The new Home Launcher from Sony Ericsson's Xperia line leaks for the masses
Phones like the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray, which we previewed not long ago, are boasting a svelte homescreen launcher, which is reserved for the new Timescape interface, but the .apk file has now leaked for anyone with an Xperia phone to install. There is a new feature called "Themes" and other little changes like a button on the right of the app drawer that allows you to directly uninstall apps from there.

There is also a Widget overview mode, where the widgets you've placed on your various homescreens are floating around in a grouped view, allowing you to spread them all over the display by shaking the handset.

The leaked .apk with the new Home Launcher has been tested on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, Xperia arc and Xperia Play already, and seems to work without any issues. Hit the source link if you want to try it out on your Sony Ericsson Xperia line handset.

if its a launcher it "should" work on more than just Xperia sets. I may DL to my Galaxy to see if thats true or not. Let ya know in a bit.

well.. it turned on.. lol. the second i try to add a widget or play with any features though it crashes. It may have something to do with the ROM im on though. Simplyhoney4.0 running 2.3.4 anyone else willing to give it a try? Its simply a launcher like any other launcher.

it may be that it needs a repository from the SE version of android to operate to the launcher so you may need to modify it in order to make it operate properly..... there is the app that emulates the launcher.... works fine on defy... small bug you will notice but so far so good

ya, ill have to look into it. the "theme" part had nothing to link to and trying to mess with it at all caused a crash other than playing in my app links. I just wanted to see if it was easily transferrable. I think your right though, its missing some coding for it to work right. Ill flip around XDA im sure someone is doing something with it.

Working well on my rooted OG Droid. Runs a lot like GO Launcher EX, but I find it to be much cleaner. Overview can be found with a 2-finger upward swipe. Haven't played with the theme option as of yet. Overall, a good stock replacement.

Almost the same as 2.3.3 launcher on X10... Too few differences to try it out. Maybe those themes push me to taste it...
