Instagram introduces the emoji slider for poll questions you ask friends and followers

Instagram has announced a new sticker called the emoji slider. You use it when you have poll-type questions to ask your friends and followers on the site. To post an emoji slider, you first need to take a picture or video, and select it from the sticker tray. You can put it anywhere you want on the screen, and then write out your question. You can pick from a selection of popular emoji, or choose one that you have access to.

When one of your friends or followers answers your question with the emoji slider, they will slide it to the left or right until the emoji reaches the level that matches their answer to your question. Once they let go of the emoji, they will see the average response from others who have responded to the question. According to Instagram, using the emoji slider will "help you get closer with your friends and followers."

The update that brings the emoji slider to Instagram is rolling out now to version 44 of both the iOS and Android app. If you don't have Instagram on your phone, click on the appropriate link: (iOS|Android).
