The Samsung Galaxy S4 is now available via AT&T
Looking to buy the Samsung Galaxy S4 right now? AT&T has the device in its stores and online, priced at $199.99 with a signed two-year contract. The eagerly awaited Android flagship model can be bought in White Frost or Black Mist and online orders receive free shipping. Off contract, the phone is priced at $639.99. Other carriers have seen delays in receiving inventory. T-Mobile, which was originally looking at a May 1st launch inside its stores, now will be releasing the device at select locations on May 8th with the balance launching on May 15th.

Sprint, which originally was expected to have the phone at its stores today, has also delayed its in store launch of the phone, although the carrier is still taking orders today from its website. Verizon has confirmed that it will launch the phone sometime next month while a leaked tentative launch schedule had the nation's largest carrier launching the device on May 31st.

I went to play with it this morning. The screen is gorgeous, but I like the One better. It looks amazing with the aluminum body and Nova Launcher.

Plus, the One has stereo speakers if you are into watching videos or listening to tunes without headphones on your phone. Personally, I am conflicted. If VZW offered the One, I would have purchased it already. But no One on VZW, so I am on the sidelines. Then again, HTC is selling unlocked Ones.... See what I mean about being conflicted? ;-)

Well Verizon will probably release a One variant ie DNA 2 but im just curious why would you buy an unlocked One seeing as its not compatable with Verizon?

VZW will probably release a DNA Plus/2, but I suspect the new DNA won't be a One in DNA clothing (no stereo speakers and most likely won't have the 'special' microphone, given the kerfuffle with Nokia). So, if I want a One, it is either AT&T, Sprint or T-Mo. There is no way I would sign up for a contract with AT&T. HTC is offering an unlocked One for $25 off from AT&Ts MSRP and without the hassle of begging AT&T to give me unlock codes. Therefore, the conflict - do I get an unlocked One and keep my options open between AT&T & T-Mo? Or, I pass on the One entirely. Sprint is not really an option given the dearth of LTE coverage. If I get an unlocked One, I should have no trouble selling it down the road (I get a case for my phones, so when I sell them they are in pristine condition). It is not exactly keeping me up at night, but it is a bit of a dilemma.

They alread have the dna its Verizon droid version of the one. They say they wont release the one version

While VZW might want us to believe the DNA is essentially the One, that s a bit of a stretch. Some differences that immediately come to mind: 1. No stereo speakers 2. No 'special' microphone (although that may not be available in the One much longer - :-( ) 3. Better pixel density 4. HD audio 5. S600 chipset 6. OIS 7. Larger pixel size camera sensor The audio experience (stereo speakers, microphone and HD audio) is what has got my attention. Camera capability could be interesting as well, although that appears to be a work-in-progress. Speaking of the camera, HTC released a software update that was supposed to improve some of the weak areas of the One's camera. Do any One owners have comments about the new update?

Verizon disgusts me. Just wait for the new/upgraded Nexus phone and go with T-Mo. Best option out there. :]

i don't understand why the one owners are trying to convince the galaxy owners they have something more superior. i checked out the one last week. it was marked up, scratched, and although it looked futuristic, it really wasn't as wow as i thought it would be. again it was knicked up and scratched. whats the point anyway to have a body you cant show off. if you eliminate that, that eliminates all reason to get one. yes i understand it has dual speakers, but they are not powerful enough to replace my er4's nor are they good enough to replace external speakers if i choose to listen to stuff with again who cares if its dual speakers the camera. all camera phones suck ass. the special lumia may be an exception. am i the only one finds it embarrassing people resort to using camera phones to take serious pictures?

So You are saying the HTC ONE sucks? I rather have an aluminum body and stereo speakers than having nothing at all. What does the s4 have? Plastic and mono speakers. Oh and I can "hover". And camera does matter because I'm a photographer and I don't carry my dslr everywhere I go. So quality and low light performance matters for me and a lot of other people.

He just saying the HTC could has done a better job on their showcase model. I have seen unattended HTC one is really bad shape. They should hire some one to do demo and protect their show case model.

no i am not saying it sucks. it's actually quality. it actually shows what htc can do with its head out of its arse. your a photographer and you use a camera phone? umm yeah ok in low light situations especially with camera phone you will often have more blurry pics over barely usable pics. i wouldn't bother using a camera phone unless i had no choice but then again im not a professional and may be wrong. but something tells me otherwise

"in low light situations especially with camera phone you will often have more blurry pics over barely usable pics." It kind of depends.... If you are out without your camera, sometimes a smartphone camera can fill in. Some of the compact cameras (Sony RX100 for example) can fill the requirement of a compact carry-anywhere camera. But if you don't have an RX100 (or better yet, the RX1), maybe a good low-light capable smartphone camera can give usable pics where you would otherwise have no pics.

I don't understand why Samsung lovers try to convince everyone the One is crap if they happen to prefer the One. This guy just made a comment about his opinion and you reply with a ffive paragraph essay about how the One isn't any good.

100% non biased facts It is complete crap, its a turd covered in a layer of alumnium, you should see the insides of the HTC One it looks like a 5 year old made it, it also suffers from major build quality issues like the front speak grills falling off because they are glued with some cheap glue. Also the inside is full of glue/plastic holding the phone together. It is quite possibly the worse internally designed phone ever made. HTC got the design externally right but the inside is horrible, expect high defect rates. For example the battery is between the PCI baord and the screen, WTF WERE THEY THINKING!

Costco had the S4 in stock today. also the One. i have verizon so i have no choice. if VZ had the One then i would be in quite the pickle. i love HTC, ive had 2 HTCs, however i would be hesitant on the One as my battery life is so bad on my thunderbolt. so bad i keep my data off just to get through the day. that worries me with HTC

Its been more than a few generations since the Thunderbolt was released. The One has good battery life and is exceptionally efficient than other Androids at web browsing if thats your thing.

The phone feels SO CHEAP! MY GOD. I vistied the store today to check it out. NO NO! It feels cheaper than the GS3+GN2. Let's just say I got used to the feel of my iPhone 5 HTC One is definitely the choice. Let's see if Sony will surprise us with the Z or ZL.

i don't think you actually played with it. It feels better than the GS3. It's small, lighter, and fits a bit better in more peoples hands. I work for Sprint, and we've seen a lot of demos of the device. We all agreed, it feels better and it's more premium. It's still plastic like, but i already have an employee that are saying that the ONE dents and doesn't take falls well. The HTC one is made out of more premium materials, yes, but that doesn't mean that the S3 is cheap. You should hold one.

43. oister85 unregistered

Yep you said it right the s3 and s4 feesl good on the hand is well my personal opinion it feels like a expensive device when you hold it.

36. InspectorGadget80 unregistered

Seriously kid grow up stop saying this phone feels cheap. Getting tired of people like u. At least u can remove the battery unlike some phones can't

I went to my local at&t store at 8:45am thinking there would be a line, but there wasn't. By the time I had left with my gs4, I was the only one that came in for one. I called the local best buy at 3pm and they still had gs4's in stock. The interest in my city (Kalamazoo Michigan) isn't very high. On XDA I'm reading the same thing from other peoples cities where they had no line at the at&t store also. It seems it's not as popular as the gs3.

I think thats an AT&T problem than a GS4 one....Maybe alot of people rather prefer T-mo, or Sprint versions.

The only idiots would stay in line are people who will buy the iphone.
