The Bezel-less Galaxy A8s will arrive without an in-display fingerprint scanner

Yesterday, while announcing the Galaxy A6s and Galaxy A9s for China, the company teased the upcoming smartphone’s bezel-less design which will reportedly make use of a display hole for the front-facing selfie camera. Aside from this, not too much is known about the smartphone. However, reliable tipster Stever Hemmerstoffer has confirmed that three color options are currently planned: Blue, Green, and Silver. Moreover, despite the recent trend towards in-display fingerprint scanners, it appears this feature has not made the cut.
According to recent information, the Galaxy A8s will be Samsung’s first smartphone to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710. Both RAM and storage counts remain unclear at the moment but, from the looks of things, a relatively small 3,000mAh battery will be included. Also likely is a triple-camera setup on the rear and Android 9 Pie straight out of the box.
As mentioned above, the smartphone will be released in January. This means that Samsung will likely announce it towards the very end of December. Alternatively, if this device is destined for international markets, an announcement at CES 2019 in early January could also be on the cards.
