T-Mobile begins Android 7.1.1 Nougat rollout for the original Samsung Galaxy J7

The original Galaxy J7 is the latest Samsung smartphone to receive the long-awaited Android Nougat update at T-Mobile. The US carrier has already published the changelog of the update, but there isn't anything interesting mentioned there.

Although T-Mobile claims the Galaxy J7 (SM-J700T) is getting Android 7.0 Nougat update, the smartphone is being upgraded directly to Android 7.1.1. A security patch is included in the update as well, but we can't say for sure whether it's the one released by Google in September or October.

We can definitely say that you should be looking for firmware version J700TUVU3BQI5 if you want to upgrade to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. T-Mobile hasn't provided any other information about the update, which comes as a surprise considering the carrier's Galaxy S7/S7 edge and S8/S8+ are still “stuck” on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Regardless, if you own the T-Mobile Galaxy J7, we advise you to check for the new software update, which started to roll out since last week.
