Sprint's Hero gets OTA firmware upgrade

Sprint's Hero gets OTA firmware upgrade
Some of those who own the Sprint Hero have been complaining of some issues with SMS that have caused the battery to drain by not allowing the phone to go to sleep. This is just one of the issues that has supposedly been cleared up thanks to a firmware upgrade sent OTA. The new firmware, 1.56.651.2, clocks in at 3748377 bytes and of course, is not the move up to Android 2.0 that everyone is waiting for. Sprint hasn't released a changelog yet, so we would like any Sprint Hero users out there to let us know what changes they have spotted in the phone from the update.

I just downloaded the update and I see a small change. Nothing too obvious. I doubt that Sprint will close. With this economy the way it is, I don't think that any company would want to buy out Sprint... would not be a smart business choice since Sprint is in limbo at this moment.

i know seriously these comments with sprint going under are funny. morons! i been with every big name company and just joined sprint last year and am very happy. the service is great, the plans are great, and there customer service well lets just say it's about the same as vzw, and way better then at&T. plus there 3g network kills at&T's any day of the week for relalibility, and speed. yes speed! i get faster data rates where i live then i did with at&t. thats the company that you better start worrying about. the iphone is all they have!! there network sucks!!! drops calls all the time!! 450kbs! that was the best speed i got over 4 months of testing where i live. with sprint i get 1200kbs down, 500 up! SUCK IT AT&T!!!!

I have had every carrier and sprint is by far the best (in my opinion)... Their plans are amazing... i mean come on $150 a month for unlimited everything on the anymobile anytime plan for THREE lines... no other company comes close to that... in fact for verizon and at&t it would cost $150 for ONE line to have unlimited everything... The coverage where i live (by yoesmite national park) works great.. i get service everywhere i go in california, oregon and washington (haven't ventured east yet)... the customer service is amazing and it the phone selection is getting better and better... they may not be the "top" dog or anywhere near it but they are heading in the right direction to becoming a great company... When it comes down to it at the end of the day it's personal preference and that's all... they meet my needs and budget therefore i am happy... the only people who should be worried about at&t going under are their customers (not saying they are) and the same goes with all carriers... i couldn't give a crap what happens to big red, at&t and t-mobile and neither should all of you if they aren't your carrier... just chill and be happy.
