Sprint confirms Android 4.4.2 KitKat updates for Samsung Galaxy Mega, Note II, S III and others

Sprint today revealed that some if its Samsung Android devices will be officially updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat in the (hopefully near) future. As you may know, the carrier’s Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 already received KitKat updates (see here and here). The next Samsung-made Sprint devices that will be updated are: Galaxy Mega, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S III, and the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 tablet. All these were released by Sprint a while ago running Android Jelly Bean.

Sprint says that the “exact timing of the updates will be shared at a later date” - which isn't really helpful for those who own these devices. Anyway, at least you now know that KitKat 4.4.2 is on its way, even for the Note II and Galaxy S III (which have been around since 2012). We'll let you know when the next updates start rolling out.
