Spoiler alert: Galaxy S7 renders pop up, show front and back in two different colors
Hours ago, serial leakster @evleaks posted full marketing renders of the upcoming Galaxy S7 edge, showing the curvy handset's front and back in three different colors – silver, gold, and black. If you are no fan of Samsung's edgy variant, however, fret not, as a followup post now gives us the same look, though only in gold and black.

Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are about to be officially announced on the 21st of February and showcased at the MWC superevent which will take place in the days after. According to retail leaks, the first production models will ship on the 11th of March, and anyone who pre-orders one of the new Galaxies between the 21st of February and 10th of March will also get a free set of Samsung Gear VR virtual reality goggles.

There's plenty of reasons to get excited about Sammy's new flagships. According to leaks and rumors, the new phones will look similar to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, with slight changes, such as a nicely curved back (a-la Note 5), a magnesium frame, a purported 2-day battery life, an impressive camera upgrade, possible waterproofing, and even the return of microSD card slots. How much of this is reality, of course, remains to be seen, which makes the wait that much more intense.

As far as the expected colors – we are pretty sure Samsung will have a couple of more shiny finishes up its sleeve, maybe even some exclusive colors, like the Emerald Green on the S6 edge, and Blue Topaz on the S6, and who knows – a limited edition, like the Iron Man Galaxy S6 edge, may pop up further down the road as well.

How can anybody say that this design is any different from S4 :P Only material has changed

Curved back, unibody, the side rim is completely changed. Besides, GS4 is my favorite smartphone design(not materials) of every smartphone released. It's a no-nonsense minimal smartphone design with enough samsung DNA to tell it apart.

Good analysis, also the S4 have the slimmest bezels and best ergonomic among the S series, but my favourite Samsung design is still the Wave series.

The bezels are fine for me.. But I prefer square like edges more than rounded corners.. The design of note 4..is the best for me..

I like the black color, proper black. Will go nice with dark wallpapers. Gold looks tacky, Silver looks fine.

This design makes me sad.... Maybe if the home button was removed I would like it... Definitely a backward step compared to the S6/Note5 series

that's a good thing in terms of bezels, the S4 was the best of the non-edge Galaxy S's

S4 had a pretty good design, excluding the glossy, scratch proof back cover that is.

You mean Samsung's Hyperglaze material? That's the most luxurious material l ever seen, it is shatter-proof and will never degrade. Unfortunately it's dead now.

at least they should use it for A series :-/

It does degrade. Part of mine tore off after two years.

I actually really liked the S4 design. I feel like it was severely under appreciated due to the M7.

You can go back even further it's basically a S3 design. Same $hitty design but this time different material and wallpaper. Only 5% aesthetic improvement over the course of 4 years. Super Ugly design continues.

Well, well, well if it isn't the infamous Samsung hater once again reminding the world on how much he hates Samsung. Hint hint: HTC, Sony and LG have been using the same design for the past three years. Did you not notice?

Why don't you mention Apple?

LG has been using the same design for 3 years? I thought they changed it significantly compared to the others that you mentioned. Their G2 and upwards, they have kept the LG signature but changed the phones enough to make you feel like you're getting a different phone.

idk the (non leather) G4 felt extremely similar to my old G3 to me.

Indeed. HTC should be left out tho. Lg as well. But indeed, and it is actually good. Just like a 20 year old Mercedes still identifies with the newest ones.

Well, at least it's am improvement then. A certain other company has been backsliding on aesthetics. Seriously backsliding.

I agree. S3. Being a good observer is not trolling.

I think the regular GS 7 looks even better than the Edge because the Edge looks so fragile whereas the regular GS looks sturdy.

I do wish they'd change the Back button design which is downright archaic at this point and doesn't seem to fit in the modern smartphone ethos. Everything else remaining the same is fine, they obviously have a distinct and recognizable design... Although I wouldn't mind seeing that Samsung logo disappear...

What would you see changed in the back-button? Personally I like it very much ever since I bought the original S in 2010 and I have to pay attention to the back button on my Nexus5 when using it ;-) I've used all the S flagships and using the S6 Edge 128GB since it was available in april. Just hope there will be a S7 Edge with 128GB also. On the Samsung logo I do agree with you. It would look more clean if they would put it on the back only.

I think it looks good. I'll probably get a silver or green if they have it. I'm curious about the internal storage type and how much you can get. I'd prefer 64gb with a 64gb SD card. They don't really have higher end 128gb cards yet.
