Sony Tablet S is now up for pre-order at Best Buy Canada

BestBuy.ca has made the upcoming Sony Tablet S available for pre-order and is anticipating the shipments of this Android Honeycomb tablet to arrive in their warehouse on September 23.

The prices of the Sony Tablet S for both the 16GB and 32GB models fall in line with other similar offerings. They are priced at $499.99 and $599.99 respectively. The arrival of the Sony Tablet S, formerly known as the Sony S1, at Best Buy in Canada should start the domino effect that sees other markets getting their own inventory.

The Sony Tablet S is a high-end tablet trying to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Apple iPad 2. It features a 9.4-inch display and is powered by a dual core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor. On the back of the tablet is a 5 megapixel camera while a VGA camera occupies the front.
