World's thinnest tablets roundup - Autumn 2014 edition
With Apple releasing the iPad Air 2, Dell spitting out the incredible Venue 8, and Sony making its first small slate, the Z3 Tablet Compact, our ranking of the world's thinnest tablets has now changed significantly, as the new slates clock in at just about quarter of an inch girth. A slender tablet is certainly better than a thick one, said Captain Obvious, for looks and ergonomics sake alone, that's why we are rounding up the most anorexic slates out there, with the cutoff being held at 0.31" (8mm).

Apple managed to trim the waistline of its metal-clade iPad Air 2 to the incredible 6.1mm, which can't be an easy thing to do, considering we have an aluminum shell. We don't know what Dell did, but it weaseled out with a tenth of a millimeter less for its Venue slate, and the Sony isn't far behind those two - all amazing achievements. Some of those low-carb proponents are really svelte-looking and even waterproof, so check out our world's thinnest tablets roundup below, and marvel at their engineering prowess.
