Samsung teases Galaxy Note 8 camera and S-Pen features in two new videos

Before Samsung reveals its next big thing, the South Korean company offers us a sneak peek at what to expect from the Galaxy Note 8. Two new video teaser hint to some of the features that Samsung believes are worth marketing before the phablet goes official.

The first video teases the optical zoom feature of the Galaxy Note 8's camera, as well as the bokeh effect that users will be able to get while capturing shots. This comes in line with previous reports suggesting Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature 2x optical zoom or 3x zoom.

Of course, one of the components that sets the Galaxy Note series apart from other phablets is the controversial S-Pen. Even if you're not using it as often as the South Korean company wants you to, Sammy released a video teasing the almighty S-Pen.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is likely to allow users to share their drawings made with the S-Pen with just a tap. More advanced S-Pen features are expected to be announced on August 23 as well, but for now, this is all we got.

It's about to go down. 6.3 inch screen, S-Pen, true multi tasking (not that fast app switching only crap), S-Pen feature suite, themes, that lovely keyboard, dual camera, 6 gigs of RAM, 7.1.1, latest version of Samsung UX. Bring it on. Mybodyisreadyandhypedbattyflashmitestyle

Yup, exactly what I think too. Just hope the dual camera on Note 8 could do more than blurring and zooming, but some real useful feature. BTW why the media explain S Pen only as drawings tool? Ppl never to know the great use of S Pen ??

It's got so many more uses than that. People don't know what they're missing out on.

I'm really digging the S-pen feature but it's too big for me.

That's the beauty of Android. You can always add your own storage.

Agree with everything except the 6.3" screen. It is misleading because size wise it will roughly have the same viewable area as a 5.8" 16:9 screen which is really only minutely bigger than the previous Note''s 5.7" screen. Till the skinny form factor becomes universal screen sizes should be indicated by viewable square inches as opposed as the screen diagonal is misleading making the skinny form factor phone''s screen size seem much larger on paper than it actually is.

Coincidence, right?

3x zoom with the dual cameras is the truth.. retains a ton of detail zoomed in when recording 4K

Zoom is 2x

25. mikehunta727 unregistered

In the article it says 2x optical zoom or 3x zoom, 3x zoom is with the digital zoom also on top of the optical zoom, I think

Yep, and the telephoto lens probably is higher MP So they can digitally zoom in "losslessly" to 3x zoom Like with the OP5

But but but optical zoom is a gimmick. Lmao.

It's x2 , and yes, it's close to gimmick. If Samsung didn't add some new feature to the dual camera, means that Samsung did it just to hunt for iboys.

It's not a gimmick at all, it's the next logical step in improving smartphone photography, you can only do so much with a small sensor on a smartphone, pushing the laws of nature and physics, so why not add another camera. It works really well with video recording especially. Samsung is suppose to have OIS in both modules so that's very nice and bodes well for the 2nd camera already

So say lossless zoom...saying it has 2x or 3x optical zoom is a misinterpretation and it's misleading.

OIS is a HUGE deal for telephoto lens Since the zooming essentially magnifies any shaking As well as the usual allow longer exposures, which is great as lens with longer focal length usually have smaller sizes or worse apertures

But but but large screen is a gimmick... But but but widgets are gimmicks... But but but FHD and QHD screen is gimmick... But but but more than 1 GB ram is gimmick... But but but amoled screen is a gimmick... But but but wireless charging is a gimmick... But but but no bezel design is a gimmick...

i'm hoping that it's a 3x but way lot of these smartphones use 2x vs 1x lens/sensor to create blur, i highly doubt it. I tried to use my wife's 7+ to take 2x optical zoom shot at the baseball and it wasn't that much better.
