Could Samsung Internet actually be killing Chrome on mobile?
Chrome is the most popular Internet browser in the world. It's cross-platform, it syncs effortlessly across devices, it's fast and capable, and it comes with every Android handset, ready to rock. It's so widely preferred by users that Android manufacturers kind of gave up on developing their own browsers and just release their phones with nothing but Chrome.

Well, most of them.

Through the years, Samsung has persisted and kept developing its Samsung Internet browser — an app that was once a laggy mess — and has managed to make a fast, powerful browser that supports a lot of useful plugins and works in unison with other elements across the One UI interface.

We thought we'd ask you — do you prefer Samsung Internet over Chrome? And it turns out the result is almost 50/50! Not only that, some people report that they are on another Android phone, but make it a point to go to the Play Store and download the Samsung Internet browser.

Apparently, Samsung made a great browser. Does Chrome need to be worried here?

Since they added adblock the Samsung browser became the best choice. But then they added all sorts of other things like fingerprint passwords, downloading videos, and a nice UI. Even from Google Now I force things to open in Samsung, and use it instead of the Google News app.

This . I have been using Samsung Internet as my default browser for the last 12 months and I couldn't be happier. I installed Adguard extension, as well as enabling fingerprint pass lock and darkmode. It just can't be beaten by the heavy mess that Chrome has become.

@Nate Diaz Does Chrome have native dark/night mode? No? Then Samsung wins.

If it wasn't for the fact that I don't have a Samsung device or that it doesn't sync with Chrome or have a desktop app I'd have gone for it. I have tried it on my phone and yes I do agree that it can edge Chrome out of the top league.

"I've never seen anyone use that browser". This made me smile. Because you didn't see doesn't mean they don't use it.

If they don't have Samsung Internet installed that means they don't use that.

If Samsung made their browser available on pcs or made it easier to transfer search history from chrome that would be amazing. I love Samsung's browser but I have to use Chrome for continuity from work and school.

I think your search history is connected to your Google account, so as long as you are signed into Google on Samsung Internet, your search history should be there.

There is a Samsung Internet plugin for Chrome, which should be able to sync bookmarks at the very least

I prefer Chrome but I'm testing Samsung browser now. Love the dark mode & being able to swipe between tabs from the bottom instead of having to use my other hand like in Chrome. Hasn't won me over as my default browser yet though.

I use both Chrome and Samsung browser password saving little by little from my Samsung usage is helping me migrate. A lot of the reason is tech sites are against anything that tries and says give up it's horrible. Prime example .... Bixby.

I was going to ask if it's more a case of people just using default and not knowing any better... But then again, most of those types of people may not read tech pages like this.

I used it once, but it wouldn't function properly. I use a Samsung device.
