Samsung Galaxy Note Edge unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge grabbed a lot of the spotlight with its unorthodox screen that wraps around one of the edges when the device was officially unveiled alongside the Note 4 this fall. It was a showcase of the crazy things that Samsung with its AMOLED display technology is capable of, but it's also a real phone.

We are excited to now finally have the Note Edge in our hands, and the first thing that we've done with the device is to to give you a first look at it in a quick unboxing. We should also give you a quick refresh on its specs: the Note Edge comes with a 5.6" Super AMOLED screen with a Quad HD (1440 x 2560-pixel) resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 805 system chip, a 16-megapixel camera, and a 3000mAh removable battery. In terms of software, the phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface on top.

So - with all this in mind - what do we have in that Note Edge box? Join us right below as we take the wraps off Samsung's first phone of this 'edge' curved type.

Great phone from Sammy and some real innovation (even if it's a bit of a gimmick)! It's on phones like this (and the Alpha line) that Samsung should concentrate on doing in the future if they want to be more competitive with the iPhone line now that has also big screens.
