Samsung Galaxy J5 and Samsung Galaxy J7 unveiled in India, pricing announced

On Tuesday, we told you to expect the Samsung Galaxy J5 and Samsung Galaxy J7 to be unveiled in India on Thursday. Right on time, the manufacturer made the two handsets official today, and now we have pricing for the two phones. The 5-inch Galaxy J5, which is powered by the Snapdragon 410 SoC and a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, will cost you the equivalent of $189 USD.

The larger sized Samsung Galaxy J7 carries a 5.5-inch glass, and is driven by the Snapdragon 615 chipset containing a quad-core 1.4GHz CPU. This unit is priced at the equivalent of $234 USD.

Both phones feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP snapper in the front with LED flash. The pair also each have 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of native storage, and a 128GB microSD slot. The Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 each support 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS connectivity, and have Android 5.1 pre-installed. Those interested in the phones can be notified when they are available to be reserved by pre-booking one or both models, starting on July 23rd.

Buyers of either device will earn $50 of in-app purchase credits for use on Gameloft. Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 buyers who are Airtel customers will also get double the 4G LTE data that they pay for, over a six-month period..
