Samsung Galaxy Gear might come along with Galaxy Note III in September
The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch should get officially unveiled on September 4th, at Samsung’s Unpacked Episode 2 event taking place at IFA 2013 Berlin, according to SamMobile. Samsung will pull the cover off the Galaxy Gear smartwatch on the same event with the upcoming new third generation Galaxy Note.
It might seem at first that Samsung is stealing a bit of its own thunder by announcing the two devices at the same time, but chances are the Galaxy Gear will act as a companion device to Samsung phones including the Note III.
Codenamed SM-V700, the Galaxy Gear has leaked out multiple times mostly in patent drawings and we have not yet seen an actual working prototype. If those patent filings turn out true, the device would materialize with a flexible display and running some form of Android.
