Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 release date pushed back to mid-August
The Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 may not be enjoying as much attention as its bigger brother is receiving, but something tells us that there are plenty of folks around waiting for it to launch. Unfortunately, the tablet's exact release date has been only a matter of speculation so far and has yet to be established even though the slightly bigger GALAXY Tab 10.1 has been out for more than a few weeks already.

However, some light has been shed on the matter just recently as word has come straight from Samsung representatives saying that “Those who are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, must still wait a bit. The official date is delayed by a few weeks in mid-August.“ So, if you are among the ones who have been waiting to get their hands on a brand new Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9, you can either wait patiently for another five weeks or so, or you can check out what other Honeycomb tablets are available out there.

One of the reasons that may be preventing the impressively thin GALAXY Tab 8.9 from launching in a timely manner is that Samsung was allegedly experiencing some display panel shortages. That may have lead to the need for some last minute tweaks under the hood of the tablet to be made, but, of course, we may never really know for sure. Well, whatever the troubles over at Samsung's busy workshops might be, let's hope that the GALAXY Tab 8.9 will be worth the wait.
