Results: will you miss the ticker screen on the LG V30?

The LG V30 is well on its way and, much to LG's dismay, has leaked excessively over the past few days. Avid fans of the V family will have noticed by now that it lacks a ticker display — one of the old models' defining features. The LG V10 and LG V20 both had this weird secondary “ticker” screen, which housed notifications, app shortcuts, media controls, an always-on clock, and some utility toggles. However, it seems it will be gone for the latest iteration of the phone series.

Leaks insist that LG is done with the ticker for now. Instead, the V30 will have an extra-tall 18:9 display and its software will feature a floating bar-type of a menu, which would simulate the ticker's features.

We thought we'd ask you whether you will miss it too much. It seems that there is a solid 35% of our reader base that found it to be a useful tool. Let's hope the floating bar does right by you guys!

Will you miss the LG V series' ticker screen?

Quite possible that the 49% of those who answered No to this survey don't even have an LG V10 or V20. The secondary display has been the V series' distinguishing feature. I have a V10 and would have upgraded to a V20 if not for the fact that only the dual rear cameras mostly differentiate the two. I like the secondary display very much, I find it useful and unobtrusive whether the primary display is on or off. I realize an OLED screen can simulate the secondary display but it remains to be seen whether the floating bar implements it faithfully. I'm looking forward to the V30 even though I will likely decide not to buy it because of the absence of a removable battery and possible removal of some features such as the IR blaster and FM radio. I also liked the location of the V10's volume controls.

I am the one that answered "No" and previously owned both V10 and V20 and i found myself enabled option to turn off ticker off at all the time that main screen went off as it wasn't a big deal for me. I am totally in love with audio and manual camera control capabilities but secondary ticker display was just some value added functionality for me that not required to have.

This survey makes no sense, especially when you can get the same behavior from one OLED display, instead of two different displays. The V30 with its OLED display can give you the same ticker tape top if you want it.

Looking forward to seeing that floating bar in action. Maybe we will on a future leak. One can hope. {___________________} < like this but much better obviously lol
