Report: Apple iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard to launch first week of November

Report: Apple iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard to launch first week of November
The latest rumor involving Apple's 12.9-inch tablet, is that the Apple iPad Pro will be ready to go on sale during the first week of November. The Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard are both also expected to launch at the same time. The report comes out of Japan, and cites sources alleged to be close to the company. Both the tablet and the accessories were unveiled last month at the same time that Apple unwrapped the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 6s Plus.

While the handsets have already been released (selling more than 13 million units on the launch weekend), both the iPad Pro and accessories have been shown on Apple's website as launching in November. The Apple Pencil will allow users to write and draw in different colors, while mimicking the style of different writing instruments. You can vary the thickness of the lines you draw by pressing harder or softer on the device. The Smart Keyboard is a physical QWERTY keyboard for your iPad Pro that becomes a protective cover when the QWERTY is not in use. The accessory connects to the tablet using a wireless feature called "Smart Connector," which transfers data and power between the iPad Pro and the Smart Keyboard. The keys are treated so that they can resist spills.

The Wi-Fi only version of the iPad Pro will be priced at $799 (32GB) and $949 (128GB). The Wi-Fi+ Cellular version will be offered with 128GB of internal memory only, for $1079. Color options are gold and silver. The Apple Pencil will cost you $99, with the Smart Keyboard tagged at $169.

By launching the device and the accessories early in November, Apple is allowing plenty of time for it to rack up some sales during the holiday shopping season.

more features, more benefits. Higher resolutions mean nothing if it isnt being used for anything. The Surface Pro makes since because it offers more because of Windows. Microosft learned within 2 years, the Surface running ARM made Windows limited, boring and useless. Why can't Samsung and Apple learn this by now. In this case Samsung has learned more than Apple because at least the Note does more than the iPad Pro does and at least it comes with a pen and buying a full sized one is pn $25 and it doesnt need charging, it sint goign to stick 7" from the bottom of my tablet that si 12" either. All of that should be a con for the iPad Pro, yet PA lists 3 things Cons Lacks microSD slot for storage expansion The camera lacks flash Proprietary USB connector - have to use its cable instead of a standard microUSB How about adding it doesnt come with a pen like every other tablet this size does. How about because charging the pen requires plugging it into tje charging port and it sticks out How about the fact the pen costs an extra $100 while others its included. ARNT THOSE CONS? If the Surface never came with a pen or the Note never came with a pen, what type of cons would they ahve had. Also, how is the iPad Pro not support sdcards a con here, but not a con with the iPhone? Or the other iPad? PA has no consistency. PA you are a joke. Yes I know I am going to get bashed because I use 2 posts to make my point...so what. I'm bash both Samsung and Apple here for certain things. But Apple more so because they are releasing this BS after everyone else and aren't doing anything better and the posts aren't criticizing them where they should be. But these same guys will bash Samsung and Microsoft and other OEMs, but not Apple. Bash them all for the same things where they equally do the same stupid bullcrap.

The most stupid things about the iPad Pro. You have to buy the stylus extra and it costs $100. I don't care how many they sell, that si just stupid. How do you advertise the pencil and not have i come with it. How is worth $100 when I can buy a WACOM Stylus which as 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity for 1/2? Then the other stupid thing is charging the pen. When did they put the connector on the far end? Wouldnt it have made more sense to centralize the connector so when you plugged it in, the pen would be flat to the bottom ? What kind of sense does it make to have an object sticking 7" out the bottom of your device which is also 12" long too? I mean, whoever thought that was smart; should be FIRED. In fact both people who though charging extra for a stylus that should come with a tablet should be fired. The guy who thought sticking a pen out 7" from a 12" tablet, should be fired. The Surface comes with a pen and it attaches to the Surface via a Magnet. SMART! The Note comes with a Stylus, with which the only beef I have with it, it is to small. With the full sized tablet they could have easily made it larger and still made a silo for it. But hey my point? It has a silo for the pen and it isnt sticking 7"'s from the botton straight out. But Apple is consider the most innovative?http://sunpech.com/public/images/blog/apple_pencil_charging2.jpg That's just stupid. Needing to charge a pen is stupid. You dont have to charge up the Note stylus or the Microsoft one either and the battery last a full year on the MS one. This is the first time I've ever heard of a AAAA battery. Interesting. Its seems some type of wireless charger would have been better or why even charge at all? Why not just use batteries the normal way? Seems simple. I thought Apple was about simplicity. So I finally got to try the splitscreen. I am still so disappointed. It works, but somehow why not in a better way. Again follow me here. iOS is Mac OS X stripped down do it can run on Mobile. Great! OS X like Windows can use multiple windows. So why doesn't the iPad have OS X like windowing capability when iOS uses the same code. if fact I have one better. Why didnt Apple jsut put OSX on the thing in the first place? I mean if Microsoft can shove a full laptop into a tablet, syrely Apple with $200BN can too right? We already have a 10" iPad, so the iapd really didnt need to get bigger. Making it bigger doesn't make it Pro. Both Apple and Samsung need to understand this. Yes adding pro-liek features is nice, but split-screen isnt a professional feature. So what makes the Note Pro, Tab pro and iPad Pro? NOTHING. But at least the Note Pro allows you to split 4 apps not just 2. And since Apple is writing these features at the OS level and not a layer like Samsung has to do, Apple surely should have offered something better. Samsung had this sh!t years ago with the original Note. making something bigger isn't the answer. With size is suppose to come..

Good point to be prepared for the soon to be announced Galaxy Tab Pro... Which will not be discounted now, since Apple also does that ?

Dude, the Tab Pro and Note Pro have been out since January 2014. My tablet came with a pen. It also has 1024 of pressure levels and the new Notes have 2048? Why would Samsung need to copy. Its the reversed fool. I dont care if you lvoe apple, but dont be a liar, a bigot and a hypocrite and bias ignorant troll at the same time. Samsung released Note products YEARS AGO fool. This is Apple chasing everyone else YET AGAIN. The Surface blows this things out the water. My 1 year old Note Pro splits 4 apps on the screen, not 2. Has a pen with it. Its 2560x1600 which was a year ago. Has USB 3.0 makign file stransfers faster, full open file system, sdcard support..right now I have a 128GB inside mine with 64GB onboard. It has an 8MP camera onboard it has dual speakers with Dolby. We had this years ago. What Apple wannabe. Seems liek Appel is a Samsung wannabe and an Microsoft wanna be. You are a stone cold fool -http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5945&sSearch2=Tab+Pro&idPhone2=5943&idPhone3=7562 Almost 2 years later and Apple cant even make something better?

Meh, just another bastardized tablet...nothing pro about an XXXXL iPod touch, even the non-pro Surface 3 would do a lot more than that inferior and overpriced toy...

The Pro is looking pretty tempting. A9X, 4 gigs of DDR4, and that screen. Hmmmmm...

Judging by the iPad's I've owned, I'd say excellent.

My Air 2 battery life is great. I hope for the next Air, they don't decrease the battery size.

I think they will. They'll make it thinner.

Over a Surface? Seriously? So you rather buy a 12" device that does exactly what the 10" one does vs a Surface that has far better hardware, just as good resolution at 2000x3000? MORE RAM, MORE APPLICATION? MORE STORAGE CAPABILITY AND MORE?

Everything about your comment is kinda dumb. Yes Apple product will sell (so saying that is a bit redundant, yes it has great RnD but so do others - so it's vapor words, and no surface is its own animal and Samsung just makes tablets because Samsung makes every possible combination of tech ever consumable my their core an brain.

apple has one of the smallest R&D budgets, so small, its actually funny. Samsung or Microsoft pay over 5 times Apple does a year on R&D.

29. Iodine

How much of that 5-times amount is going on their phones ? How much R&D funding gets a single model in samsung portfolio ? Few milions ? How much of that ~3 billions per quarter Apple is putting into the iPhone ? And why Apple is increasing their funding so much faster than others ? Maybe others don't even have money to do R&D for their phones.

I think both companies have good R&D

32. AlikMalix unregistered

I think you forgot about the companies that Apple buys out entirely or funds research outside itself to get first dibs.

Even Samsung does the same. Loop Pay is an example

Well I barely use my iPad as is so I doubt I'll buy the pro but if you're gonna get a new iPad this would be the way to go

14. AlikMalix unregistered

I really doubt this iPad was made for the masses, it's designed for graphic pros and other establishments that require bigger pad with demanding specs. From what was presented it feels like "get your work done" device vs. a typical iPad which is more of a consumption device. I would love to have the pencil for my regular iPad or iPhone.

16. AlikMalix unregistered

... Kinda like buying a Bentley or Maybach and drive it yourself... Those are designed for consumers that need to be chaffered around.... I can see people buying these things to watch YouTube videos and not for its full potential.
