Porsche Design Mate 9 now up for pre-order for a whopping €1395

Porsche Design Mate 9 is not a phone for everyone. Unveiled back in November, the smartphone has just been listed on Porsche Design's website and given a shipping date, January 31.

The result of the collaboration between Huawei and Porsche Design, the premium version of Mate 9 is now available for pre-order for no less than €1395. However, it's no surprise that the cost of the handset is so high, as both Huawei and Porsche Design announced for how much it will retail a few months ago.

The Porsche Design Mate 9 comes with a couple of improvements over the original model, such as the 5.5-inch curved dual-edge display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Huawei's powerful Kirin 960 chipset drives the core of the Mate 9, complemented by 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Unlike the standard Mate 9, Porsche Design's version has ditched the microSD card slot.

The phone's body is made of graphite black brushed metal, and covered with Gorilla Glass in the front. On the back of the smartphone Huawei included a state-of-the-art Leica dual-lens camera comprising of 12MP RGB camera and 20MP monochrome camera.

Porsche Design Mate 9 is powered by a more than decent 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging (58% in 30 minutes). It's got global roaming with dual-SIM and fingerprint sensor.

It's also worth noting that the sales package contains a customized leather smart cover, a Porsche Design premium stereo headset, and two charger-plugs (EU and UK).

You mean the same feature as the S7 edge does? Are you a troll or are you confusing the S7 with the Note 7 again?

Huawei making things very unevenly putting their devices horribly expensive. Very bad company strategy, its result will come out by the end of the year for sure. *sigh*

And also the fastest SOC at the market right now, fastest quick charge, the best camera stabilisation, and probably the best dual sensor camera utilisation, better battery life than all the other flagships and a licence to call it a Porche. I do understand the pricing but it is not for me...

Fastest SOC is probably Apples A10 chip and to be fair it should be the fastest considering when this device came out which is november thats 8 months after the S7 Edge if it had a worse cpu and camera then that would a big problem considering they had months to get better tech in their device. Right now the best camera overall is the Pixel This was obviously going to happen they price their products very well now they hve their foot through the door their prices will increase. Alot of Huawei fans would think this would never happen shows what they know.

Mate 9 Pro (4gb + 64gb and not 6gb+256GB like Porsche edition) should be on sale soon as well for 680$.
