It's that time of the year again, folks: April 1 is here, and #brands are following the time-honored tradition of reminding people of their existence playing tricks on their customers for laughs. But this year, there's a slight twist: April Fools seems to have landed a day earlier, as evidenced by smartphone maker OnePlus' previously teased announcement of a new energy drink, called 'Dash Energy'.

"Join the rebellion with Dash Energy, and revolutionize the way you recharge," invites us the product's page. The 8-hour sleep is now a thing of the past: "All you need for a day’s power in half an hour is a single can of Dash Energy." The lightning effects surrounding the drink's packaging certainly prove so, we think. There's also the heartfelt testimony of Bob, once a couch potato, who's now training for the Olympics, all thanks to OnePlus' revolutionary new drink and its special ingredient, the DASH Energy Augmentation Component.

Just as a reminder, the OnePlus 3 and 3T feature the so-called Dash Charge, OnePlus' own fast charging technology, which this stunt very clearly promotes. The curious thing is that, as noted by Android Central, the drink is actually a real product, which will be distributed at a couple of special events: 12-4pm at Bishops Square, Spitalfields, London, and at the OnePlus Experience Store in Bangalore, from 11am onwards. Both events will take place tomorrow, April 1, but enthusiasts who are unable to visit the locations can also enter a raffle on OnePlus' website, but entries are limited to Europe only.

Curiously enough, this isn't the only company who's decided to do their April Fools gag a day early: T-Mobile did it a few hours ago as well, with its ONEsie phone-charging wearable, which is, like, totally a real thing, you guys. We expect they won't be the only ones, however, so make sure you prepare yourselves for a two-day April Fools marathon this year.
