Several official OnePlus 8 5G & 8 Pro 5G cases have leaked

Several official OnePlus 8 5G & 8 Pro 5G cases have leaked
Virtually every time a new smartphone is announced, the associated brand unveils an extensive range of official cases. OnePlus is certainly no exception to this rule and thanks to Evan Blass we now know what some of the official OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro cases look like.

The Sandstone Case will be available in several colors

Before proceeding, do note that the exact number of official cases being worked on by OnePlus remains a mystery at the moment. But this particular leaks shows that at least eight cases – five OnePlus 8 and three OnePlus 8 Pro options – are on the way in a range of colors and finishes.

Leading the way is an updated variant of the Sandstone Bumper Case for both devices. This accessory has become a fan favorite over the years and OnePlus is hoping to build upon its success by offering it in a couple of never-before-seen colors.

Specifically, the Chinese company has developed a Cyan Sandstone Bumper Case option that goes perfectly with the new Glacial Green OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro models. There is also a unique Purple Sandstone Bumper Case which appears to have been designed with the Interstellar Glow OnePlus 8 in mind.

Whether it will be made available for buyers of the Pro-branded flagship, however, is unclear. On the bright side, one option that is definitely in the works for the OnePlus 8 Pro is the more traditional Black Sandstone Bumper Case.

There isn't yet a render of the standard OnePlus 8 wearing it, but considering a Onyx Black version of that smartphone is also in the works, it'd be silly not to offer the option to buyers.

Nylon, Karbon, and Clear Cases are also coming

Next up on the list is an official Karbon Bumper Case, another accessory that has been made available in the past for previous-gen smartphones. OnePlus seems pretty committed to the well-received design and has chosen to develop compatible versions of the case for both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

Once again, there is absolutely no guarantee yet that these options won't be made available for the pricier OnePlus 8 Pro, but the renders shared today do point towards the possibility of two cases made exclusively for the standard OnePlus 8 5G.

The first one is a Nylon Bumper Case that, rather unsurprisingly, resembles the one offered last year for the OnePlus 7 Pro quite closely. The second option, on the other hand, is an official Clear Bumper Case.

The latter will undoubtedly come in handy for those of you looking to protect the Interstellar Glow OnePlus 8 without concealing the gorgeous finish. It will also look good on the Glacial Green OnePlus 8, as shown in these renders.

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro announcement date

After much speculation, OnePlus recently confirmed that it will be holding an online press conference for the OnePlus 8 series on Tuesday, April 14. Reports suggest the two smartphones will be joined by an updated pair of earphones dubbed OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z.

The company is believed to be working on a pair of AirPods and Galaxy Buds competitors, but these will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors by retaining the cord that connects the two earbuds.
