OnePlus 3 survives insane aerial drop test from 750 feet above ground
When potential customers want to check out the sturdiness of a phone before spending hard-earned cash on a purchase, they usually turn to YouTube and watch some sort of drop test.

As it turns out, young smartphone maker OnePlus is well aware of that, which is probably why the company has recently published a video that details a OnePlus 3 aerial drop test from no less than 750 feet up in the air.

To demonstrate the build quality of the OnePlus 3, the company dropped a unit from an airplane flying at about 750 feet above Mimizan, France. As you can see for yourself by watching the video below, the phone has miraculously survived this insane drop test.

At this point, it should be noted that the phone actually landed on a grassy plain. Most likely, the story would have been very different should the OnePlus 3 have dropped on harder surfaces such as asphalt of concrete. But then again, only the newest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 promises to protect phones against drops from about shoulder height.

Sure, surviving a 750-feet-high is an impressive feat that speaks highly of the phone’s build quality, but you definitely shouldn’t try to replicate this test on your own.

You should have noticed the like/dislike ratio and notice there's something wrong.

Gotta be kidding me?!?!?! This is biggest bulls**t ive ever seen. Dropping it on a grassfield. Noooooooooo it doesn't cushion the fall at all with the mudd and grass. Come back when you've dropped it on concrete or asphalt. Then we can talk about a sturdy phone.

I'd like to see a high fall comparison between the htc 10, moto z force, oneplus 3 and the galaxy s7 active... Maybe throw in the droid turbo 2 for kicks

Engineering point of it, There is a thing called terminal velocity. For one plus 3 design and for its weight, the terminal velocity is around 50km/hr if you drop it even from the space. It stops accelerating once it reaches it's terminal velocity because of the air resistance. So the height 750feet doesn't matter if the terminal velocity is attained in 250feet itself!!

This is just as stupid as the iPhone story. If you drop a phone in the grease, from nearly any height, it is likely no going to break because the grass is a cushion and the phone doesn't have heavy weight. Try falling from a plane at 500 feet and if you live, see if you fair equally the same. These such things are t orally stupid and don't prove anything other than people are stupid..
