OnePlus 2 price confirmed to be under $450

Later this month, on July 27, OnePlus will finally announce a successor to last year's OnePlus One smartphone. The new handset will be called OnePlus 2, and we already know that it will be more expensive than the first OnePlus smartphone (which was released for prices starting at $299). However, the new smartphone will still not be as expensive as most flagships out there.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau today confirmed that the "OnePlus 2 will be priced under $450." It remains to be seen whether this means the handset will cost $449.99, or less.

It's said that the new OnePlus flagship will have a metal-made body (unlike the OnePlus One, which is a polycarbonate-made device) and a display measuring 5.5 inches, or maybe 5.7 inches. The new smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, featuring a fingerprint scanner, 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, and possibly a dual rear camera.

Not long ago, we revealed a couple of images that allegedly showed the OnePlus 2 (see below), but we can't be sure of their authenticity just yet. OnePlus is definitely a company to watch, so we're looking forward to seeing what it can do with its upcoming smartphone. What about you?

Not only will they not end up looking worse than the render but I feel OnePlus got greedy after the community supported them with cuz of their CM version of Android and good quality product. Now they just slap on a friggin failed chipset and raise the price to $450 which is asking too much for not-so-good hardware and it shows the lack of respect they have for the Android community! Instead of giving us an improved version of the product at the same price(cuz its 2015 o their relative cost for newer tech would have stayed the same), they just slap us with a price raise....typical

I guess 32gb will be $399.99 and 64gb will be 449.99, which would cost eventually 320 and 470.

The more likely scenario is that this will be the lower end model (I dunno, 16/32GB) priced at $449.99 while the higher end model (I'd guess 64GB) comes in at $499.99.

I would rather get S6 on ebay for some where around $500.

From $540 - $550 to be more precise, but you have a point , it's difficult to trust this company again buying their products when they didn't performed like a reliable company with all the bugs of its OS. There's still a clear gap between Oneplus and companies like samsung,HTC,LG.

Surprisingly S6 is selling for $500 today on ebay, it's an international model which I prefer more actually, because 1. no bloatware, 2. sim unlocked 3. unlocked bootloader 4. fast updates. Yes oneplus 2 will never perform like S6 because of 810 SOC (thermal throttling and subpar design compared to 7420) and cyannogenmod won't be there. I will use touchwiz as long as samsung updates then I will flash cyannogenmod or any ROM of my like.

We'll see what it has to offer to justify that price tag, I believe or will be more than justified just like the OnePlus One.

It's still a better price than other SD810 phones
