One Plus will charge $100 more for its 5G smartphone next year
The 5G technology is likely to make its debut on the market in early 2019, as many carriers and smartphone vendors reiterated their support for the technology. Just about every major carrier in the United States will start offering 5G services to customers in the first half of 2019, but only several handset makers will launch 5G smartphones next year.

OnePlus is one of the companies that confirmed plans to release a 5G smartphone in Q1 2019, which will compete with the likes of Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, LG, and Honor. OnePlus also said that its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 7 will not support 5G technology and that its 5G smartphone will be a different, more expensive model.

Now, Fudzilla reports that “people close to the matter” claim the price of OnePlus' 5G smartphone will start at $650 (€650), about $100 more than the company's current flagship, the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus' 5G smartphone is likely to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset and the Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem. The rest of the phone's specs should be similar to the OnePlus 7 since it will be sold as a flagship, but with 5G support in tow.
