Latest Nova Launcher update brings night mode improvements, more
Nova Launcher developer Cliff Wade has just announced a new update for one of the most popular Android launchers out there. The main improvements included in the update have been introduced at users' requests.

After testing the new features in the beta channel, Nova Launcher 6.1.11 has been released in the Google Play Store and here is what to expect. First off, you now have three different colors for Night Mode, including a black option which was requested by users.

Also, there's now a new way to remove home screens, that will allow Nova Launcher users to use this feature easier than ever. Last but not least, there's a fair number of bug fixes included in the update too, which is great and help further enhance user experience.

If you haven't yet tried out Nova Launcher and like tinkering with your phone's software, we encourage you to download it since it's one of the best Android launchers available in the Google Play Store.

Just installed the update and it does look good on my AMOLED screen. Now if only Google would hurry up the rollout of dark modes in the usual apps, I'd be happy.

For dark mode nova ideally has to set all the ROMs toggles for dark mode, like the "styles for telegram" app somehow does for Xiaomi and so on, so that the ROM responds to what the launcher has set. Some essential features I always need regarding dark mode: - sunset/sunrise auto-toggle, if the sun sets at the place where I am, dark mode needs to be enabled automatically and vice versa - just as for the blue-light-filter feature.

If the swiping and animations are stuck in 2016 Android design, it's a no-go for me.

Most other android launchers that emulate Launcher3 or build off of it have had a much cleaner design than Nova in recent memory, and no this isn't me hating on Nova but still.

I dumped Nova immediately I saw that only the paid version allows something as basic as the badge count. Currently using Evie with Launchboard and very satisfied.

I had to give up using Nova because Huawei doesn't allow 3rd party launcher...

Which is ironic, since the launcher would be the first thing I'd change on a Huawei. The design is a haphazard mashup of iOS aping elements and Samsung previous Experience. Let alone that it doesn't support dragging from anywhere on the screen to lower the notification shade, which alone would be a good reason to install Nova.

Huawei doesn't allow 3rd party launchers on their phones?? Omg, that's terrible!

"I had to give up using Nova because Huawei doesn't allow 3rd party launcher..." That's complete and utter BS. I use Evie Launcher on my P10 with Pie. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

I checked quickly in Huawei forums and it looks like either Nova is not supported by Huawei or it doesn't play nicely. Maybe other launchers work.

I just installed and uninstalled Nova and it works fine. I didn't dive into settings and customization but it works.

Nova Prime had been the one constant on my phones since probably 2012 or so (maybe even earlier, I can't remember exact year). It's the first thing I install. I haven't found another launcher that comes close.
