Nokia unveils a new Bluetooth enhancement

Nokia has unveiled a new Bluetooth enhancement, called Wireless Audio Gateway AD-42W. The new device allows users of compatible mobile phones, i.e. handsets that support Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution (A2DP) –profile, to listen to the music stored in their phones with their home stereos. Currently Bluetooth A2DP profile is supported only by the Nokia 8800/8801 mobile phones. The Wireless Audio Gateway AD-42W also allows users to listen with their home stereos to music, stored in their compatible computers as well as to listen to music from their home stereo with compatible wireless headsets, such as the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-601. The device is easy to connect to the home stereo (via standard RCA cables) and simple to set up. It features a dedicated switch, with which users can change the mode (to/from audio source). The Wireless Audio Gateway AD-42W is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2006.
