Nokia Mobile schedules event for May 29, has "new stuff to share"

Nokia Mobile schedules event for May 29, has
Finnish company HMD Global confirmed recently plans to reveal new products in just one day from now. The event scheduled for May 29 has been teased by HMD's CPO Juho Sarvikas, who said last week that his company has “new stuff to share.”

Dubbed “#ChargedUp,” the event will take place in Moscow, Russia, and should start at 18:00 CET (9:00 PST / 12:00 EST). More importantly, anyone who follows the Nokia Mobile Facebook page will be able to watch the event live tomorrow.

It is yet unclear whether or not the Finnish handset maker will introduce a brand new smartphone or will announce the global availability of the Nokia X6, although it's a bit too early for that. Naturally, we don't rule out the possibility of both to happen on May 29.

HMD and the China-exclusive Nokia X6 smartphone have been on fire lately, as the smartphone seems to be selling like hot cakes. Pity that it will be released just in China, although there are hints HMD will eventually bring the Nokia X6 to other markets later this year.

”Finnish company”, which is in fact a subsidiary of Foxconn.

You are wrong it's a completely Finnish company, it's owned by HMD global, a Finnish company that has its headquarters across the Nokia HQ in Espoo Finland. And HMD Globals board members are ex Nokia and so are their designers. Yes it does have a contract with Foxconn so they manufacture their phone, but so what? Apple too has a contract with Foxconn. Does that make Apple a Chinese company? No it doesn't.

You're completely wrong. Because it is based in Finland and have Finnish members in the board it doesn't make the capital/owner/ of the company Finnish. The real owner is a Chinese rich person and HMD are the first letters of his name, middle name and family.

You are so wrong! Please post some facts! HMD is Finnish! The owner is not a Chinese rich person with initials HMD, this is just BS! HMD is backed by a equity fund Smart Connect LP, run by Jean-François Baril, who was senior vice president of Nokia from 1999 to 2012. So do some research before making a fool out of yourself!

Well said. Chinese/Taiwanese money is behind this whole operation. For some people to think that a few ex-Nokia employees or goodwill investors had the necessary capital or interest to start this project is laughable.
