HMD Global asks consumers if it should offer the Nokia X6 in other markets besides China
The mid-range Nokia X6is expected to be available in China only. However, the first Nokia handset to carry a notch seems to have attracted so much attention online following its unveiling yesterday, that Nokia licensee HMD Global is thinking about expanding its distribution. A tweet from HMD Global Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas, disseminated today, doubles as a poll. The question is whether the X6 should be brought to other markets.

The poll ends in eight hours; thus far, those voting in favor of allowing the Nokia X6 to launch globally outnumber those who want the phone to remain a China only device by 90%-10%. Will HMD Global listen to the voice of the people? We will have to wait and see.

So what are the dynamite mid-range specs that has the world wanting a shot at the Nokia X6? Well, the handset carries a 5.8-inch display with a 1080 x 2280 FHD+ resolution, which works out to an aspect ratio of 19:9. Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 636 mobile platform, featuring a 1.8GHz octa-core CPU. 4GB of RAM is inside, along with 32GB of expandable native storage. Other variants include 4GB of RAM with 64GB of expandable storage, and 6GB of RAM with 64GB of expandable native storage. A dual camera setup (16MP + 5MP) adorns the back with a 16MP front-facing selfie snapper. The handset is said to be 95% glass with aluminum sides.

As we told you the other day, pre-orders are now being accepted for the phone, which has a starting price at the equivalent of $205 USD. On May 21st, the phone will launch in China at JD.com and Suning. If you want to see the Nokia X6 available in more markets-maybe the one you live in-click on the sourcelink and vote "Yes."
