New Asus Transformer Pad TF502T (Android variant of the Windows based VivoTab TF600T) coming soon
Asus has a new Android tablet based on an older Windows RT device. The new tablet is called Transformer Pad TF502T, and is similar in design and specs to the Asus VivoTab RT TF600T (which was launched in late 2012).

Just like the VivoTab RT, the TF502T is 8.3mm-thin, and features: a 10.1 inch Super IPS+ display with 1366 x 768 pixels, keyboard dock, Nvidia’s ageing Tegra 3 quad-core processor, NFC, 8MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and 32GB of Asus WebStorage space (for 3 years). The tablet seems to run Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

While Asus’ Taiwanese website is already listing the TF502T, the new Transformer isn’t available to purchase yet. But it’s been approved by the Bluetooth SIG at the end of December, so it could be launched in the near future.

Since the VivoTab RT TF600T is currently sold by Amazon for $299.99, it’s probably safe to assume that the Transformer Pad TF502T won’t be much more expensive. In fact, we think it should be cheaper. Anyway, we don’t know if Asus is planning to release the Transformer Pad TF502T in the US. But we have to mention that Amazon is currently selling screen protectors for the TF502T - so it might also offer the tablet itself at some point.

All inaccuracies and weird specs discovered in the presentation slides below (like “200-Megapixel camera” or “chocolate QWERTY keyboard” are the result of Google’s automatic translation from Chinese.
