NVIDIA beats estimates on Android and Windows tablet chip orders, posts record revenue
NVIDIA beat the analysts' estimates just like the previous quarter, reporting $1.2 billion in revenue on growing tablet sales with its Tegra 3 chip inside. The net income was quite high, too, at $209 million, or 33 cents a share, whereas analysts predicted 30 cents a share.

NVIDIA's chips power not only affordable Android slates that sell in droves, but also some of the new Windows RT slates, and the expansion of that market will allow it to start paying the first dividend in its history, for shareholders of record on December 14.
