Motorola Moto G4 Plus to be launched on June 22 in Canada for around $400
Currently available only in India, the Lenovo Motorola Moto G4 Plus will be launched in many markets around the world starting later this summer. While we don't have a release date for the US yet, we now know when the new Moto phone will be available to buy in Canada.

According to Mobile Syrup, Canadian customers will be able to purchase the Moto G4 Plus starting June 22 (that's next week). It's said that Telus, Rogers, Virgin Mobile, Wind Mobile, Koodo, and SaskTel will all offer the Moto G4 Plus for around $400 off contract. Mind you, that's the price in Canadian dollars, and it means around $309 US dollars.

The Moto G4 Plus shares many of its features with the regular Moto G4 (including the 5.5-inch 1080p display and the Snapdragon 617 processor), but it's got a better rear camera, a fingerprint scanner on the front, and a version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space. You can find out more about the Moto G4 series here.

We assume that the Moto G4 Plus will be available in the US not long after hitting shelves in Canada, most likely joined by the regular Moto G4, and the cheaper Moto G4 Play. After that, we'll also get the Moto Z (unlocked), and the Verizon-exclusive Moto Z Droid Edition and Moto Z Force Droid Edition.

Either this or the zenphone for me.

I would go with this. Sure the zenfone's processor is more powerful but its audio sucks, it's battery life is below average, it's camera is below par, and it's laggy as hell. Updates are very slow (it got its marshmallow update about a week ago) and Intel no longer makes smartphone processors. If you don't want a fingerprint scanner then I would get a moto X play, unless you live here in America.

Or for 400 you could get a Oneplus 3

Or you can get a OnePlus 2 and save $10 ;). I feel that OP2 is better than G4 plus on all fronts.

Oh sh*t...should it be a good idea to get the Moto X Play instead?

Wait for the G4 Plus to come out and then see if any video reviews come out. I'd recommend going to the 'Compare Phones' section of PA and compare the specs - if that's a decision maker for you

Aside from the FP reader, yes, X Play is better than G4 plus from my perspective.

I doubt Koodo will be getting the OnePlus 3. I'll be paying close attention for video reviews of the Moto G4 Plus!

Reviews are on YouTube and all says it overheats. For $300 get something else.....RIP "budget" Moto G. I think lenovo doesn't understand what the Moto g was all about.

even samsung price isnt that high, lol.. galaxy C7 cost $280, with 720p screen (meaning less overheat), and bigger battery

Yes, and motorola released an ota update to fix the problem after all those reviews were published. The phone no longer "overheats" and things run smoother, like the camera app. And BTW the phone didn't overheat, even before the OTA update. It was just a bit warmer than some others with the same GPU. 46°C after 30 minutes of gaming in high graphics settings is not good, but not too bad on even a high end phone, and pretty OK considering that this is only an Adreno 405, and almost every other phone with an Adreno 405 lags like hell on moderate graphics settings, with those kinds of games. That, my friends, is why skinned Android sucks. The Moto Z, Oneplus 3, 2016 Nexuses, and the Axon 7 will be this year's performance beasts.

I'm still perfectly happy with & just got another Moto G 3rd gen! After giving ios a try again & got bored. But ya the 3rd gen is still fantastic & will get another update too.

It's only 15000 rupees in India which is equal to 223 USD... Canadians get ripped

The G⁴ plus will be about $300 in the US. The standard Z will be about $450-$500 in the US. That is about $400 in Canada.

In Mexico the G4Plus is around an equivalent to US$297 and went on sale 1 or 2 days after it was officially unveiled. Moto X Play is around an equivalent to US$318, seems like a better deal to me.
