Lamborghini launches another luxury phone made from "the finest materials"

Tonino Lamborghini is the name of the company that makes luxury phones that wear the brand of the famous sports cars. Their latest addition to the Android smartphones portfolio is called Alpha-One, a luxury phone that won't come cheap, just like a Lamborghini car.

The new Alpha-One is a “signature smartphone” and so, it comes with a price that doesn't fit all budgets. If you want this luxury phone, you'll have to come up with $2,500 upfront. The new Lamborghini-branded smartphone is available for purchase starting this week in the UK and UAE, where you can pick it up from Harrods and Dubai Mall, respectively.

According to Tonino, the Alpha-One is made with “the finest materials,” such as handcrafted Italian leather and liquid alloy (“stronger than titanium”) built specifically to resist corrosion. The luxury phone comes with dual-SIM support, an impressive 20-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical and digital stabilization, as well as Dolby dual speaker.

On the inside, the Alpha-One packed a rather outdated Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable memory. The phone is powered by a 3,250 mAh battery and sports a 5.5-inch display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Finally, the phone ships with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box, but don't expect any major OS updates in the future.

ZTE made this phone, and its literally an Axon 7 with Lamborghini branding.

Yep. This is a ZTE axon with a Lamborghini tramp stamp on it. Is it worth the over $2K markup over the Axon? You be the judge...

because axon added 2 camera at the back. so it should sold around 400$. this one trades the useless camera with Italian leather. think of a piece of designer's watch leather wrist strap, 5k+ still cheap.

Really? Dual camera is useless, but Italian leather on a phone is somehow more useful? SMH

Right? That is a weird comparison to make. If you want to say that it is better designed or has more pleasing surfaces, that's one thing. But it is really odd to compare the usability of a feature to a difference in aesthetic direction.

At those prices you would expect companies to go with the most powerful internals they can get their hands on, regardless of aesthetics. But, at this price point a phone is basically jewelry and it's more of an emotional purchased than anything else.

What a mess. A tiny chinese company can make this with only 10% of the price.

People who buy products this expensive partially do so for exclusivity. Making it cheaper would kill half the point of buying it. That's the same reason people by Mercedes, Tom Ford, Audemars Piguet, or any other high end brand you can name. Yes they like the quality of a product and how it makes them feel, but it being a more exclusive club is part of the allure.
